McIntyre Adventure

The Art of Adventure

Create mental pictures of your goals
Then work to make those pictures become realities

Exercise your god given right to choose your own direction
And influence your own destiny and try to choose wisely and well

Have the daring to open doors to new experiences
And step boldly forth to explore strange horizons

Be unafraid of new ideas, theories and new philosophies
Have the curiosities to experiment, to test and try new ways of living and thinking

Recognise the only ceiling life has, is the one you give it
And come to realise that you are surrounded by infinite possibilities for growth and achievement

Keep your heart young and your expectations high
And never allow your dreams to die

"When I made the decision to support Jessica Watson’s Dream at the end of 2008, I knew I needed to quantify my efforts to promote adventure and give it a “Brand”. I had sold McIntyre Marine Services and McIntyre Marine Composites, so had nothing to promote or sell as such. I was “retired” and getting on with my definition of “life”. I decided then to bring it all under the one banner “McIntyre Adventure”, as the Brand for me to have fun adventuring and to support adventure especially in the young . As is always the case, I am often so busy, that I never get a chance to look back, clean up, or even get organised, unless of course, it is to do with my current expedition, adventure or project.

So the “Talisker Bounty Boat” voyage did not sail under the general umbrella of “McIntyre Adventure”. The same with our ongoing “Bluetreasure” expedition in Tonga. Nowhere have I ever chronicled all my adventures over the years in the one spot, or created a central point for anyone wanting to get to know me. When I decided to create a new opportunity, a “Voyage of Imagination” to support young adventurers, I had to do it.

So now we have this site, which I hope becomes a “door way” for young people to grow through adventure, if not through participation, through inspiration. My personal Blog is open for comments, ideas or suggestions. My opinions are just that, as I do not know a lot about anything really, but I do know a little bit about a lot of things. I am still learning and at my age, you cannot help but have opinions, so let’s see where this goes!

Thanks for visiting!
