YauMing arrived a few days ago with some smashed baggage and has settled into the routine of life on board, Annette is just back from a quick trip to New Zealand to get her gear and left again same day for a three day dive course and Brownie finally had a day off to complete some personal admin..he has been quite busy of late doing all the manual tasks, like building a new Computer station to fit to Big Red (our five mtr zodiac) when we start Mag operations in Tonga.
I have still spent a crazy amount of time on my computer last week and all orders of late equipment are finally in. Last gear is expected from America this week so all the engineering jobs are about to start. Sails are with the sail maker, upholstery being redone, new outboard Brackets for ‘IKI” completed, all outboards serviced and checked out (we now have seven!) , sold one of our two spare compressors (using only three now) and the crew are starting to learn all about becoming a competent crew!! Hmmm??
Scheduled departure is Monday 2nd…so the countdown begins…it will be a busy week I recon!!..we have a happy crew so that is good!!..Jane is doing all the cooking for now and there are some interesting preferences between the five of us!! Me bing the only one NOT into Chilli…but I am the only one that matters LOL!!..so meals are really cool!!
‘IKI” has finally moved from the yard where I purchased her back in Dec and should be in a container in days!!!!…wow!! she now has a barbie, Bimini, serious anchor gear and safety gear including six man life raft, satellite phone, new Plotter and Sonar, Kicker auxiliary motor, tender etc…Brownie may get his first command very soon!!
